Main research areas: heterosis breeding of winter and spring triticale (with the use of cytoplasmic-genetic male sterility); stability and usefulness of indices of dormancy, vigour and sprouting in cereals selection, computer-based image analysis in seed science; biotechnological approaches in plant breeding and phylogenetic and phylogeographic studies; cytogenetics of the selected grass taxa (Bromus, Festuca, Phleum); sex determination in dioecious plants (Humulus, Rumex, Silene); phenotypic plasticity in Arabidopsis; productivity of cultivar mixtures in cereals.

Teaching subjects: plant breeding, seed science, experimental design, classical and population genetics, cytogenetics, botany.
