History
The Faculty of Animal Science dates back to the
Study of Agronomy established at the
Jagiellonian University in 1980.
A Chair of Domestic Animals and Dairy Science was
formed within the Study in 1891. In 1923, the Study was
changed into the Faculty of Agriculture of the Jagiellonian University where the Institute of Animal
Pruduction was formed 1951. The Faculty of Animal Science was founded on 1 September
1953 wthin the newly established Higher College of Agriculture in Krakow. In 1998 the Faculty
was renamed as the Facultyvof Animal Breeding and Biology.
